Looking for a CNC Machinist to program/operate horizontal and vertical lathes and milling machines. Manual experience is a plus. 

Job Type: Full-time 

Number of hires for this role: 2 (one on day shift; one on night shift)

Qualifications: 

High school or GED 

Technical school a plus 

CNC experience: 3 years 

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • Program, Set-up and operation of drilling, grinding, milling, etc. of CNC horizontal and  vertical lathes and milling machines. 
  • Dimensional part inspection 
  • Translate verbal and written instruction to produce products in accordance with production needs by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc. 
  • Confirm all parts are deburred and cleaned before going to inspection 
  • Maintain work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner 
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks including fluid and filter checks 
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation. 
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

New Jersey – Welder

Looking for multiple TIG welders to perform titanium and nickel alloy welding.  Manual experience is a must, automatic experience is a plus.

Welding experience: 3 years preferred

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Ability to pass TIG welding assessment and become certified on required alloy/joint combinations.
  • Set-up and layout jobs using CAD drawings, diagrams and fixtures following ASME and NAVSEA specifications
  • TIG weld in all positions including use of rotary turntables/positioners
  • Translate verbal and written instruction to produce products in accordance with production needs by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
  • Precleaning of weld are using acetone, grinding discs, flapper wheel etc.
  • Set up and maintain argon purge
  • Tack welding, fabrication of shop fixtures to assist fabrication and welding
  • Maintain work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks of weld equipment

UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE SHOP FOREMAN PERFORMS TASKS AND DUTIES NECESSARY FOR THE MANUAL WELDING OF METAL COMPONENTS TO FABRICATE OUR PRODUCTS AND ASSEMBLIES. WELDERS AT THIS LEVEL ARE ASSIGNED THE MOST DIFFICULT, COMPLEX AND DELICATE WELDING JOBS DEMANDING A HIGH LEVEL OF SKILL, DEXTERITY AND WORKMANSHIP. THEY DEMONSTRATE A CAPACITY TO ANTICIPATE PROBLEMS IN ADVANCE AND ARE ABLE TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY TO SOLVE PROBLEMS THAT ARISE DURING FABRICATION.

PERFORMS OPERATIONS / FUNCTIONS WITH SECURITY AND SAFETY AT ALL TIMES.

TASKS

  • WELDS PARTS AND ASSEMBLIES ALL POSITIONS, ADOPTING THE APPROPRIATE SPEED AND WELDING TECHNIQUE.
  • PERFORMS SIMPLE LAY OUTS & FIT-UPS, POSITIONS AND TACKS PARTS TO DRAWING OR SKETCH SPECIFICATIONS.
  • SETS UP WELDING MACHINE, ADJUSTS AMPERAGE SETTINGS, VERIFIES WELD TORCH AND PEDAL CONNECTIONS, AND ADJUST ARGON GAS FLOWS.
  • SELECTS & INSTALLS APPROPRIATE TRAILING SHIELD, PURGES DAMS OR OTHER SHIELDING DEVICE.
  • CUTS & PREPARES OPENINGS AND JOINTS USING HAND HELD OXY-FUEL CUTTING EQUIPMENT, PLASMA TORCH AND A VARIETY OF MANUALLY OPERATED CUTTING, GRINDING & BURRING HAND POWER & PNEUMATIC TOOLS.
  • VERIFIES AND INSPECTS THE SIZE AND QUALITY OF HIS COMPLETED WELDS.
  • CLEANS & MAINTAINS WELDING MACHINES & WORK AREA.

Secondary Functions

IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE TASKS CLASS A WELDERS MAY BE REQUIRED TO ASSIST FITTERS IN MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY AND HYDRO TESTING, ALSO TRAINS JUNIOR WELDERS, PERFORM OTHER TASKS OUTSIDE THE JOB DESCRIPTION ABOVE, AS DEEMED APPROPRIATE AND NECESSARY BY THEIR SUPERVISOR.

Technical Skills

Ten (10) years minimum custom fabrication experience Familiar with shop drawings and standard fabrication procedures Familiar with machine shop, welding and bending operations of sheet and plate fabrication

Analytical Skills

Analyze progress of fabrication to ensure timely completion of equipment to ensure on time completion.

Management Skills

Lead work team to maximize efficiency and utilization. Train junior fitters.

Montreal – Shear and Plasma Operator

UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE SHOP FOREMAN PERFORMS TASKS AND DUTIES NECESSARY FOR THE SHEAR AND PLASMA CUTTING OPERATIONS. THEY ARE ABLE TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY TO SOLVE PROBLEMS THAT ARISE DURING FABRICATION BUT REQUIRE SOME GUIDANCE AND SUPERVISION.
